This is a rare post I am excited to share because it’s right on location during a WEDDING! Thank you SO much to Angie for being an amazing assistant and helping me capture some of the behind the scenes lovin’ from this past weekend’s wedding with the beautiful couple, Andy + Kirstyn!
First you must know, I have grown quite close to this couple so I am very candid and honest with them. Poor Andy, he has his hands full between Kirstyn and I in the same “room” together hahaha! I love working with them and they are definitely a beautiful example of what I love an Amanda Hedgepeth couple to be like! TOTALLY fun, flirty and in love with each other and life. They live a colorful life and have no regrets for being exactly who they are. Thank you to Angie my assistant, again, my gorgeous bride and groom pair and you will also see The Girl Tyler working some of their magic in this, too! Here is the wedding video they created, it’s amazing!
Hannah Hildebrandt Events– thank you for hauling me and this belly on the golf cart 🙂
Like the behind the scenes posts before…I’ll post the video and then the result of what I was shooting at the time 🙂
Starting with bridesmaid shots:
My FAMOUS line…”it looks real I promise!”
The way I like to work is by both allowing candid moments to happen and aiding in creating them. That means I will set you up and pose you in a way that can be considering traditional, and then giving a little FUN direction to create images that seem more realistic and spur of the moment! This works very well with group shots AND couples, too! 🙂
Next up, the groomsmen…sometimes you just have to let boys be boys. And yes I said, aww this is so intimate hahaha 🙂
Okay, this is the inevitable shot I love to have groomsmen do where I ask them to pretend they’re drinking in a bar and singing…and then like I said in the video, I don’t know why but they ALWAYS nail this shot hahahaha 🙂 Maybe it was the Fireball in their Vans earlier? 🙂
“I know, I could tell he was being bad, I like it though” HAHAH- this is so them, who knows what he was whispering to her! 🙂 I love having a couple posed and looking down, looking up, and then having some of their own moments and laughs all in ONE spot and pose 🙂 This is also great for wedding days when time is tight and you wanna get your couple to the reception. Shooting as MUCH as you can so quickly is your goal! If you watch the video and see how much I got out of those quick seconds shooting..it’s pretty awesome! 🙂
Having her look down, look up without smiling, and then telling her I know she wants to smile and then telling her something exciting to get a reaction…that’s 4, 5 or 6 shots in one if you can get it right!!! Keep in mind, Kirstyn is very lively and full of expressions so I automatically get so much from her as it is..so she is always rocking portrait time!
