Hey there! We're a husband and wife team who has the honor to document inspiring wedding days for the most cheerful couples around. We have three daughters lovingly referred to as the mermaid mafia and we love nothing more than salty beach days, laughing as much as possible and living the simple, good life.

  1. Love the tips! I am a child/family photographer, but have a wedding coming up for a friend so I’m loving the wedding tips! Do you still allow an hour for portraits if you have done any photos before the wedding? I was suggesting we do as much before as possible (and hopefully a first look!)

    1. What a great question Jennifer!!! In that case, I am actually okay with budgeting less time post ceremony! One thing I’ve come to learn though is..even when portrait time is scheduled PRE-ceremony, a lot of the time (in my experience) that time gets “lost” or traded for something else, like the makeup and hair is running late and it can’t happen, time just seems to disappear, so JUST in CASE I always have that solid “you are giving me this hour of time” beforehand! Also, if the couple does a first look, that is GREAT!! But I do want some of the more flattering golden hour light with them later if possible for REALLY gorgeous portraits, too!! πŸ™‚ XOXOXO

  2. You are just the cutest!!!! I love your videos!!! πŸ™‚ I’m posting one tomorrow! Nothing major, just a little pop of encouragement (hopefully) haha. Can’t wait to see more! πŸ™‚

  3. This, speaking as a bride, was soooo informative! I have a photographer who sent me this long list of things she needed (vendors and their info, family portraits I want, etc.) and I had absolutely no idea why. I honestly didn’t even understand what she meant by family portraits. A picture of my family, obviously, but what was I supposed to put?! So thank you! 😍

    1. Aw Corey I LOVE that this helped you! YAY! I think it’s so awesome and worth posting if it just helps one person, this usually helps other photogs but knowing it helped another bride is pretty awesome! CONGRATS on your upcoming wedding!!!!! πŸ™‚ OXOOXOXO
