This summer I got an email from Jessica and I was all in – they wanted a sweet, intimate wedding on the salty aired Outer Banks and they needed someone to capture it for them. If there’s one thing I love, it’s diversity in what we shoot so we’ll be at a 250 person wedding one weekend and one with the closest friends and family of the bride and groom the next. I LOVE THAT. There is a common theme of these couples being on a best friend and teamwork dynamic that I love (from high fives to butt grabs, it’s all there, team mentality hahaha) – and Jason and Jessica were no exception. I am so thankful that I was the one who got to shoot this by the sea near where Mike and I were married seven years ago AND that we dodged the weather, you’ll see how dark that sky was behind us!
We’re excited to share some Outer Banks wedding tips soon on the blog – but take the first from Jessica and Jason. As tough as it is with vendors and timelines sometimes, it’s important to be able to be a little flexible with your ceremony start time for intimate weddings because the weather here is quite unpredictable and I showed up early to their beach house and said GUYS – can we move this up 30 minutes and beat the weather! And we *exactly* beat the weather, as in the lightning started when we were finishing up portraits! WHEW! They had a friend officiating so it was PERFECT, we made it happen and I’m so glad we did! I adore you guys!!!!
