One day, you will be a bride.
You will walk with your sweet daddy down the aisle hopefully towards a man half as perfect as he is.
I will cry because all I will think about is the first time I saw your pretty face, and fell in love with you.
Mommy’s job means I get to be with brides all year long. I see their mama’s faces as they help them put on the dress, adjust their jewelry, prep them perfectly to make that walk towards their new life.
I watch mothers always do this thing on wedding days, and it’s incredible because they all do it and I never realized until I met you, little girl, that they all take a step back. And then another. And then another, and take a look at their baby girl in her dress, about to say yes to the man of their dreams. I think when these mamas step back they’re not just trying to get a good look of their baby girl, but learning to let her go be a bride, a wife, a WOMAN.
Camryn Mae, I savor every moment with you because one day you will be this woman. I hope you have the most compelling, rich & beautiful life that this world, your daddy & I can give to you…but in the mean time…you are mine. Stay innocent, stay sweet, stay mine. I love you angel baby.
