From day one, I was wishing and hoping I would get to work with this girl and her fiancé, and my wish came TRUE…they’re all mine! 🙂 Kayla has a cheerful heart and the sweetest disposition, and she’s gorgeous to boot. I hadn’t gotten to talk to Matt yet but I knew if he loved her and made her as happy as she is to be getting married next year…that I was going to hit the jackpot with two incredible people to work with here on the Outer Banks for their Nags Head engagements and even with all the weather scares (it was a really, really mean forecast last week!) – it happened SO beautifully and I am so thankful for every single minute I got with them!
We knew there was a chance we would have to dodge some weather so I began shooting almost an HOUR earlier than usual…which you won’t find me ever doing much unless it’s going to be heavily cloudy in the afternoon and this storm heading our way made the 90 degree weather dip down enough for us to not be completely miserable and I always appreciate that while shooting sessions outside, haha! Jockey’s Ridge gave us the perfect filtered light through the trees and the beach was empty enough for us to get some of the sweetest portraits with golden light, waves crashing on my sweethearts and I didn’t want the session to end. I have a feeling I’ll be getting all the feels and totally choked up next year when Kayla and Matt tie the knot!
